DRAMA was saved to the very end on Saturday at the Singapore Press Holdings Schools Relay Championships.
In the day’s final race – the A Boys’ 4x200m, Sengkang Secondary School snatched victory with a time of 1min 31.47sec, edging out Singapore Sports School by just 0.01sec.
It was not all despair though for SSP as they won three of the 12 races – C Girls’ 4x200m, A Girls’ 4x200m and 4x400m, the latter in a meet record of 4:08.95, 0.5sec faster than the previous mark set by SSP in 2007.
Victoria School were the only other multiple winners, clinching the C Boys’ 4x400m and 4x200m.
The two-day meet ends on Sunday with the 4x100m and 4x800m relays.
The action kicks off at 2pm at the Bukit Gombak stadium.
